Our boat sets sail and heads to open waters. We enter stillness and the bow touches the radiant light of the sun stretching across the calm ocean. As the boat touches the radiant light it is “transformed” and continues on its course leaving a glistening wake across the horizon. Time seems to hold onto this ribbon of light and the deep radiance will forever be a light in the sea that can be seen also from the shore.
We are all witnesses of this “divine light” that appears daily in our lives but do not always let it “transform” us. We tend to stay close to the shore and do not reach that pocket of light way out at sea. It is a beautiful thing to see our lives change completely, to transform, to transfigure; not from the outside only but starting from the inside.
“Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2
